Due to the large number of individuals seeking assistance, the FEMA Disaster Survivor Assistance Team will now be at the Cherokee County Emergency Operations Center, at 213 Alma St., Gaffney, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday this week.
When you arrive at the EOC, the FEMA team is set up in the old school auditorium. The entrance is next to where the FEMA trailer is set up. Please be patient if there is a line.
NOTE: If you receive a denial notice from FEMA after requesting assistance, please read the entire document. In many cases, a denial simply means further documentation is needed.
Residents can also register for FEMA assistance by visiting DisasterAssistance.gov, calling 1-800-621-3362 or by using the FEMA App.

NO CLASSES THURSDAY:
Limestone University classes are canceled on Thursday, October 3. There will be no classes, e-learning, and no assignments/tests/activities due (On-Campus and Limestone Online Program). Assignment due dates going forward will be adjusted accordingly. Decisions regarding classes will continue to be made on a day-by-day basis. Students who have specific questions regarding their class(es), should contact their professors. Students should also keep in mind that some professors may not have power and/or internet to respond quickly.
Staff supervisors will contact their employees to discuss their circumstances regarding reporting to campus and/or remote operations.
Students, faculty, and staff are asked to continue checking our social media pages and Limestone University email for updates.
Blacksburg Wildcat Baseball:
We will not begin workouts this week. We will not begin until a notification is sent out about a for sure start date.
The Broad River Baptist Association shower unit is operational at the Cherokee County Emergency Management headquarters at 213 Alma Street for workers and emergency services. BRBA staff will have showers available for emergency personnel and essential workers. In addition, we have churches in the Gaffney and Blacksburg area that have showers available. Please call or text (864)490-0882 if you need information about showers.
