I am Dr. Sharon Jefferies and I have served as principal of B. D. Lee Elementary School for the past sixteen years. I have served a total of twenty-two years in education in the capacity as a middle school teacher and as an elementary and middle school administrator in the Cherokee County School District. I received a Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Educational Leadership and an Educational Specialist degree (Ed.S.) and Superintendent Certification from the University of South Carolina, Columbia. I have been recognized as Palmetto State Literacy Association Distinguished Literacy Administrator for the Year 2019-2020 and Palmetto State Literacy Association Cherokee County Administrator for the Year 2013-2014 and 2019-2020. In addition, I was also named The Gaffney Ledger Golden Peach Award for Best Principal in 2017-2018 and was awarded the Administrator Crystal Apple Award for the month of September this year. Serving in my role as principal is definitely one of the most fulfilling and rewarding highlights of my career.
I am super excited about the second year of the consolidation of B. D. Lee Elementary and Mary Bramlett Elementary Schools for the 2022-2023 school year. The faculty and staff are excited about this school year and we look forward to working with you and your child so that we can continue to Bee the Beary Best! My motto is to always encourage our students, faculty and staff that “Believing is Achieving!” I truly believe that if you believe in yourself, stay focused, and keep your vision in front of you that you will truly be successful.
